IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7 vs e.l.f. Ultimate Blending Brush

Kaleigh compared the Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7 to the Ultimate Blending Brush. Here's what they had to say:

The It Cosmetics No.7 Heavenly Luxe Brush is a dual-ended brush and retails for $48. The ELF Ultimate Blending Brush is a single-ended brush and retails for $6. The first and most obvious difference in these two brushes is that one is dual-ended and one is not. The It Cosmetics brush is intended to be used as both an ‘all over’ brush and a concealer brush while the Elf has only the all-over application ability. Another striking difference between the two brushes is their density. I was very impressed that the ELF brush was much more voluminous and dense vs the It Cosmetics brush. When using both brushes I much preferred the ELF brush for liquid foundation application. Personally, I have never used a brush designed like this It Cosmetics conceal brush to apply my concealer. I typically will use a beauty sponge or flat edge brush. For the sake of the test, I did use the conceal end and was not impressed with the application. I found that my concealer appeared to be sitting on top of my skin rather than pressed into the skin. I also used both brushes for powder application and again preferred the Elf brush. Its density really seals the deal. I was able to achieve the same coverage and appearance with the Elf brush but in fewer swipes. One area that the It Cosmetics brush did win at however was as a contour brush. I preferred its precision when applying bronzer to my cheek and forehead area using the larger side and was able to really carve my nose with powder when using the conceal end. One big drawback of the It Cosmetics brush, however, is its storage ability. Due to it being a dual-ended brush I am not able to place it in my upright container with all my other brushes as it will damage the opposite side over time. Instead, I have to store the brush by itself laying flat to preserve its shape. This is not convenient and makes my OCD go crazy. With all things considered I still consider the Elf brush an awesome dupe for the It Cosmetics. What is lacking in dual end ability it really makes up for in density and coverage.
