Kayla compared the Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner to the British Rose Petal Soft Gel Toner. Here's what they had to say:
Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner is $45 for 8.4 oz and The Body Shop British Rose Petal Soft Gel Toner is $16 for 8.4 oz. Both brands are in very similar bottles. TBS has a flip cap and Fresh has a twist. Both have a feature in the cap to help with dispersing the right amount of product. Both have real rose petals in their formula. Fresh’s petals are much larger and sink to the bottom while TBS’s petals are crushed up and throughout the whole formula.Texture/consistency wise, I feel these are different. Fresh is a normal liquid toner and The Body Shop is gel. I applied both brands with a cotton round. Due to the fact that TBS is a gel consistency I do feel like you need more product to get your whole face. I did notice that Fresh removed more traces of left behind makeup than TBS did. If you are solely looking for a toner to get leftover makeup off your face you may not like TBS. I double cleanse so I do not rely on a toner to pick up the stuff left behind. Both brands feel so good on the skin and made my skin feel soft and absorbed into my skin very similarly. Fresh has Hyaluronic Acid while TBS has Aloe Vera & Vitamin B-5 which are known to be very good for dry skin. Both are alcohol-free and have glycerin. Both do have Citric Acid which is known for not being good for sensitive skin so be cautious of that if this acid bothers you. Fresh claims to minimize pores with continued use but I honestly did not see results to back up those claims. Both brands do have a rose fragrance. I like both and they are similar - TBS smells a bit stronger. Neither are intrusive or too artificial smelling. They are very subtle and once applied on the skin the smell dissipates quickly. While both brands are rose-based Fresh has many more rose-based ingredients. I am combo (oily t & dry everywhere else) and neither toners made my oil worse. Both gave me a very soft hydrating feel after application and set me up perfectly to apply my other serums and moisturizers. Are these dupes? They do have some different ingredients, but overall, I think they have a very similar result and purpose. I do really like the thin consistency of Fresh and do wish The Body Shop was not gel. But it certainly is not a deal-breaker. Fresh is not anything magical so in the end, I would repurchase The Body Shop over Fresh.
