1. Glowy Skin That Actually Looks Like Skin
The goal isn’t necessarily “glass skin.” It’s skin that looks hydrated, healthy, and alive.
After years of ultra-matte makeup and aggressive routines designed to exfoliate every last bit of texture away, skincare is moving toward enhancing skin rather than trying to completely transform it.
That means prioritizing hydration, supporting the skin barrier, and choosing formulas that help skin look naturally fresh instead of coated or overworked.
And while a little strategically placed highlighter never hurt anyone, the best glow usually starts before makeup.
Look for ingredients commonly used to support hydration and the skin barrier, like hyaluronic acid, ceramides, fatty acids, and niacinamide. The goal isn’t poreless skin. It’s skin that looks comfortable, balanced, and healthy.
2. Doing Less, But Doing It Better
The 10-step skincare routine had its moment. Now, we’re much more interested in the products that actually earn their spot on the shelf.
More skincare doesn’t automatically mean better skin. Layering multiple strong actives at once may leave some skin feeling irritated, especially when products aren’t introduced gradually or used as directed.
The shift toward simpler routines doesn’t mean abandoning active ingredients altogether. It means being intentional about them.
A routine can be pretty straightforward: a gentle cleanser, targeted products based on your skin goals, moisturizer, and SPF during the day.
The new skincare flex? Knowing exactly why you’re using every product in your routine.
3. Accessible Luxury
This might be our favorite skincare shift of all.
People still want skincare that feels luxurious. We want beautiful textures, elegant formulas, and thoughtfully selected ingredients.
What consumers are increasingly questioning is whether all of that really needs to cost $150 or more.
Skincare shoppers know more than ever before. We read ingredient lists. We compare formulas. We look at concentrations. We know our ceramides from our peptides, retinol, and vitamin C. And that makes it harder to justify paying for a prestige name alone.
The real luxury is getting a product that feels incredible to use and contains thoughtfully selected ingredients without the traditional prestige markup. That’s a shift we’re very much here for.
At Brandefy, that idea has been part of the mission from the beginning: take a closer look at the skincare people already love and make thoughtfully formulated alternatives more accessible.
Because great skincare should feel expensive, but it doesn’t have to be expensive.
