Laura Mercier is $39/ ounce and Maybelline is $8. Although Maybelline advertises this as a finishing powder, I think it is more effective as a setting powder and an excellent dupe for Laura Mercier's translucent setting powder. There are some differences, Maybelline is not translucent and comes in 8 shades so it does give off some pigment so you will need to be careful with what shade you use. Laura Mercier comes in 2 shades - original and deep for darker skin tones. But both were highly effective in setting makeup and keeping under concealer from creasing with no flashback. I would recommend trying out Maybelline!
