Kaleigh compared the Magic Star Concealer in C5 to the 16 HR Camo Concealer. Here's what they had to say:
Jeffree Star Concealer (JS) retails for $22 and contains 3.5 ml of product. ELF Camo Concealer retails for $6 and contains .2oz of product. I FINALLY got my hands on the Jeffree Star concealer and I was not disappointed. From packaging to performance he really hit it out of the park with this one. Can ELF compete? Keep reading to find out! For starters, the packaging of these two products is completely different. In true Jeffree form, his concealers come in a glamorous wand-shaped packaging with elaborate detailing on the cap. Elf, on the other hand, comes in a standard rounded packaging with a black wand cap. Speaking of the wands, this is again another area of no comparison. The JS concealer has a unique pointed wand tip and allows for very precise product placement. The ELF wand is a thicker stemmed wand and looks similar to a lip gloss applicator. Both wands are very effective and work perfectly JS just provides a bit more precision. When comparing smell both products are fragrance-free and have a normal ‘makeup’ smell. The consistency of the two formulas is also nearly identical. When applied, both products have a very full and even coverage and blend beautifully. In a long-wear test I did find that the JS held up a bit longer than ELF but not by much. Another area that JS knocked it out of the park was shade range. This collection contains 33 shades and includes 2 color corrector options. Elf on the other hand only has 18 shades to choose from and no correctors. This was a hard comparison and it took me days of testing to decide if ELF was dupe worthy. I DO think that the formula of the concealer is a dupe but the overall packaging, and the shade range is not. If you are someone that wants the range and glitz and needs a precision applicator then JS is for you. If you are like me and don't care what it looks like as long as it gets the job done then ELF is your bet.
