The basics

So, what is niacinamide?

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 — a water-soluble vitamin your skin already recognizes. In skincare it's one of the most studied and best-tolerated actives there is: it plays well with almost everything else in your routine, suits most skin types, and rarely causes the irritation that stronger actives can.

Think of it less as a one-trick treatment and more as a quiet multitasker — an ingredient that helps your skin do its own job a little better. That's why you'll spot it on so many labels, ours included.

The evidence, softly stated

What niacinamide helps with

Research on topical niacinamide points to a handful of benefits. Skincare is rarely a guarantee, so read these as what the science suggests it helps with — not promises.

Helps strengthen the barrier

Research suggests it helps support the skin's own ceramides and lipids — the "mortar" that holds the barrier together — so skin holds onto moisture.

Helps refine the look of pores

In studies, topical niacinamide has helped reduce the appearance of enlarged pores over several weeks of consistent use.

Helps even the look of tone

It may help soften the look of dark spots and uneven tone by interrupting how pigment travels to the skin's surface.

Helps balance oil

Research suggests it can help moderate excess surface oil — one reason it's a favorite for combination and oily skin.

Helps calm the look of redness

Its soothing, antioxidant character may help skin look calmer and more even over time.

Helps soften fine lines

With consistent use it may help skin look smoother and more supple, alongside a good moisturizer and SPF.

Niacinamide, answered

Is niacinamide safe for daily use?

Yes — it's one of the gentlest, best-tolerated actives, suitable for most skin types morning and night. As with any new product, patch test first.

Can I use niacinamide with retinol or vitamin C?

Yes. Niacinamide is known for playing well with other actives, including retinol, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and peptides — which is why you'll find it alongside them in several of our formulas.

What percentage of niacinamide should I look for?

Most research on topical niacinamide uses roughly 2–5%. Our No Needles Renew Serum is formulated at 4% and our WaterCream at 3%.

How long until I see a difference?

Skincare takes patience — most published niacinamide research runs over several weeks of consistent use. Give any new step about 4–8 weeks.

Which Brandefy product should I start with?

If you want niacinamide front and center, start with the No Needles Renew Serum (4%) or, for a moisturizer, the WaterCream (3%).

How does the WELCOME20 offer work?
